Welcome to Yogyakarta – JST 2015

JST1 Minggu, 4 Januari 2015, Komunitas Kolese St. Ignatius (Kolsani) menyambut 12 orang mahasiswa Universitas Santa Clara, California dengan jamuan makan sederhana. Dua orang dosen dan kesepuluh mahasiswa tersebut tergabung dalam “Immersion Program on Inter-Religious Dialogue 2015”.

Selama kurang lebih 3 minggu, mereka akan tinggal di Kolsani. Mereka akan banyak belajar mengenai proses dialog antar-agama yang bekerjasama dengan ICRS-UGM. Selain itu, mereka juga akan bersama-sama diajak melihat secara langsung toleransi yang ada di Indonesia khususnya di Yogyakarta melalui trip ke berbagai lokasi. Setelahnya, rombongan akan diajak berefleksi dalam retret di Muntilan. Komunitas Kolsani menyambut hangat kedatangan dan siap berbagi dengan mereka. Welcome to Yogyakarta!

Kunjungan Santri Sunan Pandanaran

Acara Perkenalan Jumat, 30 Mei 2014, pukul 14:30, rombongan 30 orang dari Pondok Pesantren Sunan Pandanaran tiba di Kolese St. Ignatius (Kolsani). Mereka didampingi oleh Bapak Suhadi Cholil, seorang pengasuh pondok pesantren yang terletak di Jl. Kaliurang Km. 12,5 Candi, Sardonoharjo, Ngaglik, Sleman, Yogyakarta itu. Ia dosen di Center for Religious and Cross-Cultural Studies (CRCS), Sekolah Pascasarjana, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Mereka datang untuk menjalin persaudaraan lintas agama melalui komunikasi dengan para Yesuit dan meluaskan cakrawala kuliah “Studi Agama-agama” mereka. Frater Heri Setyawan SJ dan beberapa frater Yesuit lain di Kolsani menyambut dan mengajak mereka ke tempat yang sudah disiapkan bagi dialog.
TanyaJawab Di tempat itu, para santri melihat video dokumentasi “90 Tahun Kolsani.” Kemudian, Frater Hadian Panamokta SJ menjelaskan tahap-tahap pendidikan calon imam Yesuit dan menggambarkan kegiatan sehari-hari komunitas Kolsani. Lalu, para santri bertanya-jawab dengan para frater Yesuit mengenai paham Allah dalam Kristianitas, ketuhanan Yesus Kristus, siapa Santo Ignasius Loyola itu, pelayanan dan kehidupan para imam Katolik, hubungan Gereja dengan agama-agama non-Kristiani, kegiatan misioner Gereja, peran Gereja dalam dunia, pandangan Gereja mengenai budaya dan politik.
Para-Santri-Bersama-Frater-Kolsani Acara selanjutnya adalah sholat ashar bagi para santri, menikmati kudapan, minuman, dan obrolan dalam suasana kebersamaan yang hangat. Yang berikutnya adalah acara bagi para santri untuk mengenal Kolsani, deretan kamar frater dan pastor Yesuit, ruang makan, dan kapel, serta mengenal Gereja St. Antonius Kotabaru, dari balkon melihat suasana dalam gereja di mana umat berdoa rosario bersama, atau mengaku dosa sebelum perayaan ekaristi harian dimulai pada pukul 17:30. Para frater Yesuit menjelaskan simbol-simbol yang ada dalam gereja.
Berpose-sebelum-Pulang Acara terakhir adalah foto bersama di halaman depan Kolsani sebelum rombongan santri meninggalkan Kolsani.

Dalam dialog antara para santri dan para frater Yesuit dihargailah kemerdekaan beragama yang mencakup kemerdekaan mencari kebenaran dan kemerdekaan berbicara. Setiap peserta dialog menghargai kemerdekaan rekan dialognya dan kemerdekaan dirinya sendiri. Persaudaraan antara umat Muslim dan umat Katolik tidak dapat ada tanpa dialog antara mereka. Dan dialog itu tidak dapat ada tanpa kemauan mencari pandangan, persepsi, dan asumsi yang benar mengenai dasar-dasar teologis rekan dialog, yang kerap terkait dengan emosi dan psikologi. Setiap orang Katolik dapat berdialog dengan tetangga dan temannya yang Islam dengan berbagai cara dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, dalam upaya bersama untuk saling memahami, dalam perjuangan bersama untuk mewujudkan keadilan sosial, kesejahteraan umum, perdamaian, dan kemerdekaan semua orang. Bila pendirian yang kita yakini sebagai kebenaran berbeda dari pendapat rekan dialog, itu tidak berarti bahwa pendirian kita tidak masuk akal atau bahwa kita tidak dapat mengatakan apa pun mengenai itu.

Semoga pada masa depan, semakin banyak komunitas yang melakukan kegiatan silaturahmi lintas agama dan semakin kuatlah persaudaraan antar umat beragama. AMDG!

Kerjasama dengan Pihak Lain

Some Inspirations On Principle
1. If we imagine ourselves with the Trinity, in the spirit of Ignatius, looking down on the earth …., what do we see? More than five billion human beings — some male, some female; some rich, many more poor; some yellow, some brown, some black, some white; some at peace, some at war; some Christian (1.95 billion), some Muslim (1 billion), some Hindu (777 million), some Buddhist (341 million), some of new religious movements (128 million), some of indigenous religions (99 million), some Jewish (14 million), some of no religion at all (1.1 billion) [GC 34, Dc. 5, No. 1].

2. Without in any way relativizing our faith in Jesus Christ or dispensing with a critical evaluation of religious experiences, we are called upon to grasp the deeper truth and meaning of the mystery of Christ in relation to the universal history of God’s self-revelation. “It is the same Spirit, who has been active in the incarnation, life, death and resurrection of Jesus and in the Church, who was active amongst all peoples before the Incarnation and is active amongst the nations, religions and peoples today.” [GC 34, Dc. 5, No. 7]

On Challenge

1. Jesus could be discovered among the poor or the difabel! Is it also possible for us to discover Him among those who do not explicitly follow Him? [Cf. Spiritual Excercises, No. 230]. How could we, Christians, take response and formulate as well as communicate our faith in Christ according to the context we live?

2. Is it possible for us to response the challenge of pluralism as a locus teologicus to build a contextual ecclesiology and Christology? “It (i.e. theological reflection) has to explore the meaning of the Christ-event in the context of the spiritual evolution of humanity articulated in the history of religions” [GC 34, Dc. 5, No. 9.5]

On Implementation
1. In our formation a closer acquaintance with the beliefs and practises of other religions must be given through special courses and actual involvement in a pluralistic milieu….. and initiate common projects for the building of a just social order…..[GC 34, Dc. 5, No. 9.3 and 9.7]

2. Training programmes are organized in view of a wider involvement in dialogue. [GC 34, Dc. 5, No. 18]. Our educational institutions will conscientize their students on the value of interreligious collaboration…[GC 34, Dc. 5, No. 9.8]

3. GC 34 encourages each Assistancy to prepare Jesuits able to become experts in the fourth aspect of interreligious dialogue…. The experience of Jesuits who have approached Muslims with preparation, knowledge and respect has often shown that a fruitful dialogue is indeed possible. [GC 34, Dc. 5, No. 11, 13]
